What a week.... I was so tired - you know how crazy every thing can happen at the day or week... last week every single day and night I had something thing going -
I actually started this entry on Monday - now it is already Wednesday night! When it rains it pours. Hopefully you've still tuned in...
Last week every night we had something on the calendar - we had a big HFPE dinner with Linda's ward last Tuesday, we did a happy unbirthday party and wore funny hats to celebrate the RS Birthday. It was fun, but a ton of work. Our "committee" is really only me (counsellor) and the HFPE Leader - so from our ward it was me and one other lady cleaning until 10pm. But from Linda's ward they had about 8 people which was really nice.
Wednesday I had a big Girl Scout event - so Chirstina - even though you say you're glad you don't have boys with a bunch of activities - I'm still crazy with the one girl!! My troop (of 21 girls) hosted an event for another 21 girls - I did all the prep work by myself - so I had to prep for 6 activities times 42 girls!
Thursday Linda and I were in charge of our meal prep group - that was exhausting too - it's always so fun to go and have meals to bring home, but it's so much work when it is your month! Then to top it off - we went to Rite Aide after for ice cream, and they didn't have any! Well, maybe like Black Currant or Cherry, and Rainbow sherbert! What a let down!
Friday - was our school's Disco Bingo - which is always fun - but so loud! Why do places always think the louder the music the better? But the good news is, we (or rather mom) got 2 bingo's and one of our raffle tickets won - so we did really well - one of our prizes was an ITunes GC! Can't beat that.
Saturday & Sunday was my daughter's dance convention - the last of the year- she's the one that dances the whole time, but man, I'm exhausted by the end. However, now that the girls are getting older - the moms are getting smarter - we went for a matinee & dinner. It was also Baseball opening weekend so Mike had his hands full.
Mike was so sweet, the boys all planted roses in the front yard to surprise me when I got back.
This week is a little better but with just the regular busy - Mike sent tulips to me at work yestreday - it was very sweet - we saw the musical Jersey Boys on St. Patrick's day with our friends - we've all been listening to the music since - so he wrote on the card "my eyes adore you". .... I know you want to say how sappy, but I enjoyed it!
We're planning our summer vacation - we're going to San Diego for a week - it should be fun. I'm just looking forward to Spring Break! I need it.... I'm trying to convince Mike that we should go to NYC in the fall - we've been watching Grease: You're the one that I want! and the kids loved it - it's cheesy, but it was fun to watch!
Well gotta get those kids to bed...

Fabulous Friday
I'm so tired! I brought the kids to school. Met with a contrator at my house, then raced over to Costco just to rush back home. I went out with my neighbors today to lunch at PF Changs and then got pedis & manicures! My one friend is having a baby in the next couple weeks - it was a huge surprise - she had brain cancer after having her second girl 11 years ago and was told she would never get pregnant again but here she is - she's pregnant with a boy. She took me out when I was pregnant with Lucas (almost 3) so I thought I would reciprocate. That was the last time I had my nails done! I got them painted One Million Dollar Red! Oh la la!
I talked to one of my best friend's via IM today, I love that thing, she lives in Italy - and I get to go visit her in April sans kids - my mother-in-law is coming with me - for 13 days - actually - I'm going for 13 days, my MIL is coming a couple days later. I can't wait. Mike sends me every other year - just by myself usually - one of these days I really have to learn Italian.
We're going to see Jersey Boys tomorrow night in SF with some friends - it's supposed to be pretty good - Linda is so nice - she's gonna watch my brood - I haven't been able to find any babysitters lately for anything! Even this evening - we have tickets to the Warriors (not my favorite thing to do, but the seats are fabulous!) from my pregnant friend's husband.

Late Day Wednesday
I love Wednesdays - the kids go to school an hour later and it is so much more relaxing to get ready in the mornings.... however Ian (5) always seems to be late no matter what time he gets up. He's my little reader and player in the mornings, everything but getting ready for school. He even will read our Book of Mormon for Families before eating breakfast! We read every morning, I used to read to the all the kids while they got ready and ate breakfast, but they all wanted a turn to read. I'm not sure how much gets lost in translation, but we read!!
I was supposed to have painters come to my house today at 8am. I had to call at 9 and they said they had to go to the office because they didn't have a map!!! I guess they've never heard of Mapquest, or a cell phone - since they had my phone number.... so I told them to come back at 11:15 because I had to work in the classroom. The kicker is that they didn't finish!! So now they have to come back again tomorrow - I'm so tired of having them in my house - this project is going on 3 weeks!
Got it all taken care of though so it will work out fine. Today is a lighter day thankfully, just Ian's Tball and Tyler's dance. It's harder when I have Girl Scouts - we do that twice a month on Wednesdays after school and it wears me out - I have 21 girls in my troop and we're doing big even next week. The day after a big HFPE event I'm doing with Linda's ward. There's something about overscheduling that keeps me sane, or rather is it insane!!!??? LOL

Manic Monday
I'm so tired! This weekend was nice, but tiring. The dance thing went well, Tyler's group got 3rd overall for both of her dances (tap & jazz) - out of 6-7 entries in each. But best of all they had fun. She has a really great group of girls in her dance group - there are only 4 of them, and they are really good together. I was the mob leader and made the other mom's go to a movie with me Saturday for a matinee - Sunday since I didn't go back to Pleasanton to go to church, another mom and I went for a really long walk, it felt good to stretch the legs. But we got home about 4pm, and I was exhausted! And I didn't even dance! But didn't sleep well - I always do that - when Mike goes on business trips or we go on vacation, I never sleep well the first night - the second night I crash. Usually the first night when he is gone is when I catch up on all my TiVo shows - I love my Law & Orders - all types - I think it's funny how L&O is the example in the TiVo handbook.
I worked today and it was crazy - I work Mondays & Tuesdays at ClubSport - it's this monolithic sport club - I job share with another woman - the only way I can go there is by working and get a free membership because you have to pay something outrageous like $850 initiation fee, and $200/month for a family.... so Christina - good for you to get a deal on your LA Spa place!! I still have my Linda Evans/Butterfly Life membership as my backup - it's something crazy like $25/month. I've been working there since January now, and have I even worked out there yet???? Of course not! Not enough time in the day. But I figure they're getting a bargain deal for me to work there since I haven't been an Admin since I was in college!!! I'm not sure how long I'll last, it's been hard cramming all the other things I have to do and want to do in the other 3 days. But when the checks come it's a nice perk. I did however register and got in on the Nike Half Marathon in SF in October - so we'll see if I can get my butt out on the treadmill!
Lucas has been dealing with speech delay - 6 months ago (age 2.5) he was rated at 18 month old speech proficiency. The county has been footing the bill. Today we went for a transition meeting with the school district, it looks like he'll qualify for Speech Therapy there - so I'm very encouraged. His birthday is 4/4/04 (and he's the 4th baby) so when he turns 3 he is under the care of the school district - I'm crossing my fingers it's a smooth transition.
Well - my afternoon has already been crazy, 2 piano lessons, carpool drop off, now dance - and somewhere in there I will make dinner. I hope you all had a terrific weekend!

Friday Fun Day

Well the kiddies have a 1/2 day of school today - and I had to start it with a RS meeting - I'm the HFPE counsellor, so if you have any great ideas for "HFPE Groups" I'd love to hear them!
Christina wrote to welcome me to the blogging world and told me now I'll be cool with her & Linda - I doubt it! Still just a geeky chick!
I got to go out and get a quick walk around the neighborhood before the meeting though - haven't done it in a LONG time. This weekend is a dance mom weekend - we get to take the girls to a dance convention and the moms all hang out - we're going to try to see a matinee or go to the mall - out to lunch....it's such hard work.....so Mike gets to stay home with the boys (ages 8,6 & almost 3)
Here's a picture of my little dancer - it's her "headshot" from last year but you get the idea. She's 11 years old already!!! Time goes by way too fast.
Science Day
Thursday - (forgot to post it) was a 1/2 day of school for the kids - we got to come home and have a friend over for Tyler to work on their science project. They made bubbles. Seems not such a big deal, but when these 2 fifth grade girls go to get their ingredients - they got out the Cascade instead of dishwashing soap!!! Oh what a mess that would have been........
Off to baseball - then dance - I seem to live in the car in the afternoons, I'm sure I'm not the only one, no wonder there is a hole in the ozone....

Maiden Voyage
Here is the first attempt....we'll see how it goes.....we'll have to see how I can keep up on this... everyone is so witty all of the time. But it will be nice to have it written someplace - then I'll try to be smart and print it off for the real journal - for posterity.....
