Aloha!!!!

Well it's been kinda crazy around here since school let out - hence why I've not been blogging - but I'm still here - well actually - not "here" but in lovely Maui, Hawaii with my man....

We are so fortunate - my mom came to town to watch my 4 kiddies - Mike & I love to travel so here we are enjoying the fun in the sun.....well actually when I look at my camera I only have pictures of Mike so far.... we'll change that soon.

Today we're meeting my grandpa for lunch - he is here also but he leaves tomorrow so we are going out!

Unbelievable

My mom told me about this story today in Las Vegas - I'm not sure how you miss one of your kids at dinner or bed but apparently it happens....so sad - she wanted to make sure I always count my kids - not sure if it is motherly love - or she thinks I'm a bad parent... (just kidding mom)

Recital & Baseball Day

It's that big day - End of Baseball and (endless) Dance Recital Day

My poor girl has to go all day and she danced last night too - when I finally pulled up the schedule though we found out the teacher pulled her Tap and she is only performing her main dances once in all 4 shows, but she has to be in the Finale for all 4 shows, thus making her be there from 9am to 10pm tonight - I think there are some child labor laws to be broken for sure!!!! Unfortunately the dance teacher has her "favorite" groups and they are in all 4 shows - the girls and parents all know it - not sure how it will pan out for us next year but for now, she is putting on her show face. She just got her pictures last night - I can't believe how long her legs look! She is just a regular old 6th grader - but when you make them up - it's kinda frightening!

Ian has had a great season - his hitting has been monstrous lately and he even got a Grand Slam last week! Because of the dance recital I'll miss his last game :( but then they get to have a great party at my friend Julie's house - it's the same one as last year with the water slide in the side of the hill (and the place where I had to jump into the water to save Ian!)

Cman's poor team didn't do that well this year - but personally he did great - he improved his pitching and the coach LOVES him to play catcher - he's one of the only ones that can make throws to 2nd and keeps runners from stealing home. He has a big scrape from last week diving for a save.... he's a great player!

I love watching the kids at their sports - it's always so hard to run around each week for practices and such - but it is so rewarding when they are out there having a great time and improving each year. This truly is what life is about - just watching your kids grow and learn - have a great weekend.

Not that I'm Ignoring Blogging...

Only 7 more days of school!!!! Hooray, and awwwww at the same time - I am done, as I'm sure my kids are - with homework and practices after school. Las week is a blur now, this week is on superspeed...

This weekend I went camping with my Girl Scout Troop - it is our last year so it is very bittersweet. I love being with all of those girls - they are just so much fun. We had 16 camping with us and we were between Santa Cruz & Monterey so the beach was a bunch of fun.

Then I proceeded to come back to Baseball game Monday night, Pack meeting last night, and crazy schedule for the next three nights - it's Dress Rehearsal week for Tyler's marathon dance recitals - she performs Friday night, then 4 shows on Saturday - crazy! Yesterday I even went to the Zoo for a 2nd grade field trip - tomorrow is the 3rd grade musical... the madness will end SOON!!!!

Memorial Day

We had a very fun Memorial Day weekend - Friday night I got to go to book club, my first one - all of the others have been on my birthday , or Tyler's Bday or I was out of town - I really like these ladies - very down to earth and fun. It was at this one lady's house who is Indian - she made the Best Chicken Marsala - my mouth was burning of course, but it was soooooo good.

We read this book - SNOOOOZER - not one of us finished the book and we only meet every other month! Soooooo boring - with a few good points. I guess Oprah did some video cast with it on her show - it's supposed to be much better together. Way too much about the Id, Ego, and Spirituality, but more worldly spirituality if you understand what I mean. So not on my "Good Reads" recommend list at all....

Saturday we had no games - it was great - Mike and I decided to go up to the Temple - we were on our way, would have just made the 10am session, and ding - my recommend was expired by a month! You could tell the Temple Worker was so sad for me.... but we tried! So weird because I've never done that before - oh well.

So we came home to be with the kiddies and worked in the back yard all day - it was very productive. On Saturday night we joined about 70 other parents from our elementary school and went to Tommy T's which is a comedy club - it was a hoot - we had VIP seats and had a blast!

Sunday was regular church so all was well - then we had our friends the Arnolds come over for a BBQ, it was very fun - they have 4 kids too and Chandler & Greg are best buds - they had a family against family football game (sans the moms - we stayed inside where it was warm)

Monday is our Ward's annual Memorial Day Breakfast - and our family tradition is to ride our bikes to the church - it was fun, the kids love going on bike rides which is nice since Mike and I like to go more now. We just had to pull Lucas in the Burley - and poor Ian - we were supposed to get him a new bike for his bday last October - well, we have yet to get one so he had to over pedal on his little bike. The ward decided to have a huge Spring Cleaning at the church - so we were supposed to clean bathrooms, floors, outside windows, walls, you name it - so we were there for a while, I came home exhausted!

Then our friends the Beans had a neighborhood bbq - they have the perfect backyard for it too, pool, sport court & lots of space to sit and relax -

But then it all had to end and back to the grind on Tuesday - well I'm off to do more laundry!!!! It never ends..

Finally an update

Here we are enjoying a fabulous dinner at Brannan's in Calistoga. My friends and I had a wonderful trip - it was so relaxing and we ate and ate and ate, I think I gained 4 pounds!!!!!

The spa was really relaxing - not quite as elegant as I would have expected - it was one of the oldest mud bath places in Calistoga (I only went for the massage, not the mud....)

But we have a good combo - we all love to eat and shop. I got a really cute linen pair of pants and a cute blouse - all with Hawaii in mind of course (we're going next month!)

On our way home we stopped at the Coach outlet and I couldn't resist my purse fetish and bought one of those cute sling purses that holds absolutely nothing - but it was a steal!!!!

Michele & Laura

Me & Judy

Judy's fabulous Ahi dinner

Michele & I shared the Salmon & Pork - to die for!!!!!

Today was Lucas' Bike day at school - he was so proud of his bike!

Last week before my girls trip it was back-to-school night....

This weekend is my first girls weekend in forever - I know - I get to go to a foreign country by myself to see my BFF but having a local Girls weekend is just something I never get to schedule into the calendar.

So this weekend I plan on doing this.....

A little of this......

And a lot of this......

This time there are 4 of going - most places were already sold out so that was all we could sleep with - we're going to Calistoga for Mudbaths and Massages - it should be fun, I just bought a boat load of unhealthy snacks, a book & my friend Laura is bringing toe nail polish to go along as well....so tomorrow I'm off!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a really nice mother's day this year - totally forgot to take pictures of the kiddies - but Linda should be posting pictures of us relaxing while the men and children toiled! Linda and her family came over as is our tradition. We got yummy tri-tip sandwiches, lots of yummy snacks, and the kids made us giant homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches!!! Can't ask for more. I even got breakfast in bed - so nice to have late church this year.

My mom is here too and my brother and SIL came and brought her this giant edible fruit basket, me flowers and then took my mom to lunch and a movie.

Such a nice day - I love the handmade cards and pictures - they kids wanted to get me a new softball mitt but they want me to pick it out - so funny at the end of the day - my husband gave me a giant hug and said, "Now I know why you get so tired, I'm exhausted!"

What special things did you get today??
